Barbaric Procedure Continues under Barbaric President
by Jeff Davis
The Republicans have finally passed a measure in the House to defund abortion. Unfortunately, this is yet another symbolic vote sure to be vetoed by the African in chief, who not only supports abortion, but who supports the murder of what he refers to as “temporarily alive“.
The ultra-left Politico.com reports: “The House just approved Rep Mike Pence’s amendment to cut off funding to Planned Parenthood, checking off a hot-button social issue even as it set up a bigger showdown over defunding the health care law. The vote was 240-185 with 11 Democrats voting for the amendment, and seven Republicans voting against. One member voted present.” (A particularly spineless “out” of controversial legislation that so far as I know, is allowed only in the United States Congress.) A group of Republicans on the floor applauded when the vote hit 218.”
The Republicans had control of the House, Senate and presidency from January 2001 to January 2007 and did nothing about abortion. I guess they only vote our way on important issues when there’s no chance of the bill passing.
Politic.com goes on: “That amendment managed to suck up three hours of often emotional debate time on Thursday night, which is a big part of the reason the health care law defunding votes got pushed into today. Pence, of Indiana, touched off a vicious back-and-forth Thursday night in which Republicans insisted the organization is too aggressive about performing abortions and several Democrats charged that the GOP was waging a war on women. Pence said the amendment captures a rough public consensus that they accept legal abortions, but don’t want to pay for them.”
Someone should tell Pence that a 2011 poll shows 50 percent of Americans are pro-Life while 42 percent are pro-abortion. He probably knows this, but he’s apparently a political liar, who wants to pretend that the American public still supports this butchery that’s euphemistically called abortion. The fact that he refers to terminating a fetus as a “woman’s right” shows where he stands and how dishonest he is. Nowhere else in US law is a woman given sole custody over a child regardless of the father’s wishes, nor should anyone ever have the right to murder someone because they would cause them an economic inconvenience.
Virtually every major left-wing cause is paid for almost exclusively with taxpayer money. Liberals insist that ordinary Americans be forced to pay for all their liberal programs either through taxes or mandates from federal courts. One good example of this are all the big corporations, who have adopted “Gay Partner” benefits, which has plundered the health care funds to buy HIV-suppressing drugs for the bugger-boy partners of those annoying poofters in human resources.
After two more years of the Obama Depression, there’s a good chance the Republicans will take over the Senate and presidency in 2012 with a strong Tea Party influence. Maybe–just maybe, with the whole country about to go bankrupt and there simply isn’t going to be any more money for all this liberal nonsense–the few legislators who still have some remains of a conscience might be able to put a stop to some of it.
