THE OPERATOR OF the NCT has suspended five employees in connection with an
investigation into claims that unroadworthy vehicles were given certificates in
return for money.
Earlier this week, RTÉ’s Prime Time Investigates sparked a debate about the
taxi industry in Ireland when it showed that seriously defective taxi vehicles
were passed on the road worthiness exam in return for bribes. Following the
programme, entitled Dodgy Cabs
Ltd, the government announced a full
